Anzac Recount
The Horrific Highway To Hell!
It’s 2:am on the 25th of April 1915. I just got into the landing boat. I’m crammed in there like a can of sardines. There were 25 soldiers in the boat with me. The two guys next to me were stoked. I just could not understand why! The men were quieter than mice. I had adrenaline pumping through my veins. I had butterflies in my stomach. I could smell fear all around me. I was petrified.
There was about one kilometer left till we reached the shore. We were so close to the landing zone. The only light I could see was the moon and that was it. Suddenly, the moon dipped behind the clouds. I could not see a thing! I was so scared! I was breathing heavily.
Suddenly, out of the blue…... BANG!...... Bullets were flying everywhere. I held my gun like it was my heart.
I hate this Highway to Hell I thought. Sadly, my friend Ali next to me got shot in his stomach. I saw part of his guts on the floor. Blood was gushing from him. I could not look. I was so depressed. My best friend just died in front of me! Oww! I felt a sharp pain in my head. I did not know what had happened. I did not know what horrors lay ahead…..

My Speech
Why Pokemon Cards Should Not Be Banned From Elm Park School.
Do you like and/or play with Pokemon Cards? If you do then I think you can help me. Pokemon cards might get banned from our school. It can possibly be stopped by us all trying to persuade the teachers not to ban them. I know you are probably thinking how is this going to be accomplished? Well I am going to tell you three great things about playing Pokemon which you could use to try persuade your teachers to not ban Pokemon Cards from Elm Park School.
Playing with Pokemon Cards teaches kids addition, subtraction and multiplication! This doesn’t just help us, but it also helps teachers too, so they don’t have to work super hard all the time because the children are teaching themselves to be better at Maths. Students will learn more when they are with their friends and having fun.
Another aspect of playing Pokemon Cards is that it helps children find or make new friends. Playing the Pokemon card game can make people who collect the cards meet someone else that they don’t know that collects them too. Then they trade, verse or simply just look at each others cards! I think that usually 94% of the time, they will make new friends. Don’t you think that that is great! This will help to make our playground a peaceful and happy place with everyone friends with each other.
Playing Pokemon Cards can also teach children to get along with each other and perhaps stop fights. When you sit down to play Pokemon or to trade with each other, you can get happy if you win or if you also get a new card by trading. If you lose you will just be stoked to play again or to have a rematch. This helps students to learn that they don’t always win and gives them skills in being a good winner and a good looser. This helps them to manage themselves and their anger so that if they ever do get into a conflict they might be better prepared to handle it and not get into a fight.
In Conclusion playing Pokemon Cards can help you with your education. It helps with your reading, spelling and like I said before it helps with your math. Playing Pokemon Cards also helps you with your social skills and helps make less conflict at school. These are my reasons why Pokemon cards should not be banned and I hope I have convinced you not to ban them at Elm Park School.
